Hello everyone, good day!
I'm Ayaka Sasaki.
Today, I will introduce a hidden gem located in Yurakucho, Tokyo.
What a magnificent ginkgo tree-lined street! Oh? It's already December 15th today, but it's surprising how we can still enjoy the autumn foliage. From Hibiya Station to here, there are colorful Christmas illuminations as well, so it's a great time to enjoy both.
Here we have 'Ya Kun Kaya Toast,' a specialty shop where you can experience Singaporean breakfast culture.
This is too much fun!
As you enter the shop, a warm atmosphere and a gentle aroma welcome you.
This time, I ordered kaya toast, sweet coffee with condensed milk, and soft-boiled eggs with a special sauce. These are apparently the staples of a Singaporean breakfast.
While waiting for the order, having a delightful conversation with the staff is one of the charms of this place.
The Singaporean coffee 'Kopi' originates from the Malay language. In Singapore, it's characterized by coffee brewed strongly with plenty of sugar and condensed milk.
Here we have the kaya toast, Kopi, and soft-boiled eggs. The Kopi is characterized by the sweetness of the condensed milk, and the soft-boiled eggs are topped with a special sauce. The outside is crispy, and the inside is fluffy, matching perfectly with the sweetness of Kopi.
And the sauce on the eggs is slightly spicy, a discovery of new flavors!
It's a simple and happy taste of tradition and heritage.
This is the much-awaited kaya toast! Toasted to a perfect golden brown with a generous amount of rich kaya jam and butter melting together, it's overwhelmingly delightful.
I could eat this forever. Well, actually, the portion is big enough to fulfill that wish!
Choosing the terrace seating was a good decision.
In the winter afternoon light, the golden ginkgo trees shine like a scene from a painting.
The sweet taste of kaya jam and the creamy flavor of butter, I've discovered the charm of a Singaporean breakfast.
Kaya jam is made from ingredients like eggs, sugar, coconut milk, and pandan leaves.
The access is great too, just a short walk from Yurakucho Station, near the International Forum building, where you can enjoy an extraordinary experience on the terrace seating while admiring the beautiful ginkgo trees.
Today, I introduced the kaya toast shop in Yurakucho.
For those who want to enjoy the authentic taste, I highly recommend visiting this place.
In the next video, I will introduce another wonderful spot.
Oh, and I would be happy if you could share your recommended places in the comments.
Until next time, good day!
